This tutorial will show you how to blend two images together in Photoshop.
First, take two images. I am using these:
01 and 02.
Now, open up a new document in Photoshop. Go to File then New. The size I will be using is 475x200 pixels.
Next, paste your two images onto that canvas. Make sure they are on separate layers and that the top one overlaps the one underneath. Now take the lasso tool:

Make sure the lasso tool is set up like this:
And select around the edge of the top photograph like this:

Now press delete until you are satisfied with the blending effect. You may need to move the selection up and down a bit. This is how mine looked:

Add any brushes and effects you want to. Then you'll have a finished blend!
