Absenteeism

Yup, I’ve been suffering from absenteeism! I can’t believe I haven’t updated in nearly two months! I don’t really have a big excuse, I knew I needed to update, but I just couldn’t bring myself to it. I guess I needed a bit of a break.

It’s been a pretty busy time. I finished my exams, then we were still in college until the middle of July, so I still had work to do ready for my final year which starts in September! In the last week of term I helped out with some activities days they hold at my school for the lower years, which was fun. :)

Quite a bit has happened in the world in the past few months… of course, Michael Jackson’s passing, which was very sad, I’ve been a fan of his music for so long, and never believed the rumours about him! It sort of made me think of the fragility of life, so I’ve been taking some time to get things done and not waste time. I took up jogging as well, and it’s really helping me to feel better about life and myself! I definitely recommend getting out there for a short while each day and being active. :D

Oh, and argghhh, at the start of July my phone just went… kaput. Gone. Wouldn’t switch on or anything. Sent it back to Sony Ericsson for repairs… Took ages to actually find out the status of it, but FINALLY got it back fixed (they replaced the main board), but without the battery I’d sent with it. So then I had to wait for them to send another battery, and then put it in, switched the phone on… It worked! But THEN found out it wouldn’t accept my SIM card (my phone clearly says on the front it’s a Vodafone phone, but obviously the main board or something hadn’t been locked to Vodafone or left unlocked or whatever, haha, so my SIM card was ‘incorrect’), and I didn’t want to do anything that might void my warranty, so once again, I sent it back. Didn’t hear anything about it for almost a week and was like, hello, where the heck is my phone and what are you doing with it? Miraculously, the next day, I was told the phone had been received and was being repaired, and I finally got it back again this morning! Sony Ericsson’s customer service via email and phone are excellent… but their repair centre, which is like a different company I guess, is absolutely useless. But yeesh, at least I finally got it back after like a month!

Has anything much been happening to you guys? I’d love to hear some interesting stories. :)

Shopwiki – revolutionary online shopping

I shop online a lot. Not just for things for myself, but for gifts for others and various normal household items. It’s tough to find decent sites with good prices. And all that searching you have to do… Changing key words, clicking on tons of links which don’t actually have the product you’re looking for… It can be really annoying! Just this afternoon I spent ages searching for an item that I just couldn’t find anywhere for a good price (well, one that didn’t include extortionate shipping costs!), but that’s another story.

So that brings me to what I’m going to blog about: Shopwiki, a revolutionary online shopping website. Not only does it have great buying guides, but with one simple search, it shows you every site that has the product you’re after. Which makes shopping online ten times easier!

There are various other good aspects about the site, such as, like I said, all the buying guides, and the design! When you search for anything, for example, Xbox 360 Accessories you get a list of all the relevant stores which are really easy to view since the design is so clean, and the green buttons leading you into the store really pop out and brighten the screen.

If you’re into online shopping, give Shopwiki a try. I’m sure it will bring you savings and you can seriously find just about anything on there!

What would you like to see?

Okay, so I haven’t updated in a while! My apologies for that, I’ve just been so bogged down with revision and stuff that I haven’t felt like updating. I still have some exams to go, but as soon as they’re out of the way, I’m sure I’ll start feeling more motivated.

Which leads me to some questions that I have. I don’t have much content right now, and I want to make something that’s a bit different, and to make things that would bring people back, so I have a few questions that I’d be really happy if you could answer!

1. What sort of graphical content would you like to see? What is something you search for and find really hard to find? I don’t want to stick with icons and myspace graphics… I want something different.

2. I was considering having an ‘articles’ section… What sort of articles would you like to read? Would you like to see an advice column or articles on certain topics? Give me an idea of what you would be interested in reading!

3. Tutorials. What would you like to see a tutorial for? It doesn’t have to be anything graphical… Maybe something to do with beauty or something else. Again, just throw me some ideas!

4. I’m hoping to have a little shop. I want to sell some clay charms (example of some here), maybe some graphics, maybe have some deals for a sponsored post about your site… I don’t know. Anyway, my question is, what would you be willing to pay for something like those clay charms? Also, would you be interested in buying clay charms and other things? What would you actually want to buy? (Please answer even if you know you can’t buy stuff online, it’d really help! :) )

5. What would bring you back to a website? Regular updates, content that you use, new shop items..?

I think that’s all I have for now! Thank you so much if you take the time to answer.
